Oh lawdy! That was fun. We would love to say a hearty thank you to everyone who came out to play at First Comes Love this year. Our shiny new (but actually quite old) venue MosArts in Mosman Park did not disappoint – this grand old dame of an Art Deco theatre is the perfect spot to showcase such amazing exhibitors of Westralian weddingness. And they sure did bring the awesome. There was an awful lot of gasping in awe and excited clapping of hands as we watched the show come together. Yes, you can research online, but we think nothing beats meeting folks in person and seeing their work up close!
Not only was it a day chock-full of incredible exhibitions by clever creative companies, but there was more live entertainment than you could point a stick at. The theatre stage was graced by talented tunesmiths all day, accompanied by impromptu performances by our roving singing models – the a cappella ensemble Darling – plus a sundowner with 10-piece showband Blow The House Down. An abundance of wood-fired pizza, paella and complimentary lemon-iced tea filled bellies to the brim, whilst pages in the Field Guides to Westralian Wedding Wonderfulness were poured over on the hunt for the perfect pledge or party persons.
Some special shout-outs go to the Energiser bunny that is Anna from Botanica Naturalis who volunteered to fill our fair entrance with an abundance of blooms and beautiful milk glass from The Vintage Table, highlighting this year’s feature image taken by Peggy Saas Photography. So damn pretty!
Here’s a snapshot of the shindig by Ilkka from Ilkka K Photography and Tasj from Kremers Photography. We think they’re tops and can’t thank them enough for taking the time to document the day.
We also want to heap fuss and attention on Team FCL (also known as our long-suffering family members and friends!) who all deserve gold stars and foot massages. We thank our welcome team who graced the front door and helped people find their way around the building – Karen, Michelle, Mel, Emma, Sienna and Juliann. Our model helpers and runners and carriers of the trains of gorgeous gowns – Felicity and Estella. Our cable-running, PA-setting, sound-making stage-men Duncan and Geoff. And our lifters of heavy things – Graham, Adam and John. Plus, to our right hand gal Holly from Some Kind of Wonderful… we’re so glad you joined us this year! Thank you.
If something tickled your fancy, and you’re not sure who the responsible party is, do please leave a comment and we’ll let you know tout de suite who to get in touch with.
This was such a beautiful day! Thank You FCL, the high-light was the Darling girls, and the Pizza and Paella 😉 the sustenance was needed and delivered!
Beautiful Fair once again FCL, you never fail to deliver. The Darling gals were just GORG, wonderful idea, and we adored the little cards they were handing out with the ‘Who, What, Where and How’ of their dresses, make-up, hair and bouquets. Wonderful work!
Well ladies’ (and gents?), you sure do know how to put on a fair! I had my FCL cherry-popped, and boy-o-boy was it exciting! Thanks for the range of beautiful vendors, the singers, the instrument players, the food and the bar, you’ve given us a lot to think about. Will be back next year, even if there is no wedding to plan! – P&D.
You out-did yourselves this year ladies’!
