We love an elegant swellegant affair hosted in historic buildings, with handsome boys in bowties, and a bride in one of the most beautifully adorned gowns you ever did see. Biddy and Dan’s big day was a wonderful mix of thirties-style silver-screen panache, paired with an up-to-the-minute contemporary cocktail reception – and every second swoon-worthy!

A planned proposal on the ski slopes of the Swiss alps was waylaid by an unfortunate accident which saw Dan airlifted to hospital. Thankfully, a nasty shoulder injury didn’t stop the question from being popped in Zurich. The couple then chose to marry in the Perth College Chapel, followed by relaxed soirée at the iconic seaside teahouse Indiana on Cottesloe Beach. Biddy explained, “Our main aim was to have a fun party at the reception. We wanted a laid back vibe at the wedding and to enjoy our day with family and friends.”

Family relations featured in a special way in Biddy’s ‘something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue’ items. She borrowed diamond earrings from her mother and a snippet of old blue lace from her wedding day bag. It had been made by her mother – Biddy’s late Nonna — and the lace was stitched inside Biddy’s stunning Galleria Couture gown “so they could be a part of the day”. Biddy said, “A locket with photos of my late Nonna and Nonno was also sewn onto my bouquet. My sister and bridesmaids surprised me with this on the day, as I was very close to them. It was very special and meaningful.”
