Can we admit that we have a little crush on Cat and Ben? I think we can. After all, it’s not unusual to fall for a musician (the lyrics! the love songs!) Let alone two musicians.
“We share a love of music. Ben plays the guitar and I like to sing… I’m not sure how talented either of us are! But we bonded over our love of acoustic music, having a beer and a sing-a-long, which made a nice break from studying,” said Cat. She and Ben met whilst both studying psychology. Cat was an Honours student and Ben was working towards his Masters. She said, “He was very supportive of me and the project I was working on. I fell for Ben’s brains, kindness and happy smile.”
Choosing to be wed down south was a given for the couple. Ben proposed on Cat’s uncle and aunt’s farm in Rosa Brook – a special and meaningful place for her. From his picnic proffering in a treehouse, to her emotional reply (“Are you sure?!”), to their big day at Aravina Estate in Yallingup; their happily ever after was set in stone.
And to sweeten the deal? Ben surprised Cat by playing a song for her during the reception. “Ben is really nervous about singing in front of anyone, including me, so I was brought to tears when he took to the stage… He sung the song ‘Hearts on Fire’ by Passenger.” And instead of a bridal waltz, the whole bridal party sang Mr Big’s ‘To Be With You’, accompanied the Damien Cripps Band. Too much talent.
We thank Cat and Ben for sharing with us and their equally talented photographer Carly of CJ Williams Photography.

I love that hairpiece, thanks for putting Bride La Boheme on my radar! 🙂 x
Absolutely love these photos. They have captured the moments so well. I love the dress. Where did the bride get ready as it looks lovely. Is it private or rental accommodation.
Hi Tam – a little digging reveals that Cat’s amazing getting-ready spot is a holiday rental in Yallingup called ‘Naturally Kinfauns’. You can spot it on booking sites such as Stayz or Homeaway. We have house envy!
Photographer captured some truly magic moments. So gorgeous!
Hi Do you mind me asking where this bride got her beautiful clutch handbag
Hi Tracey – we checked in with the gorgeous Cat and she said her clutch “…was actually from Forever New!! :)”. A savvy purchase, but possibly a few seasons old now.
