We’re so darn excited to share this wedding with you. It’s a pearler! Sandra is a wedding gown couturier we’ve been delighted to get to know, as she’s exhibited her Elvi Design elegance at First Comes Love. We know what her work is like: stylishly beautiful, contemporary but with a nod towards the glamorous gowns of yesteryear, impeccably crafted by hand with the highest quality fabrics and laces, and made with the help of her family (her dressmaker mother Birgitta is a part of Elvi Design). Its not surprising her wedding with David was the same.
Sandra’s gown, the bridesmaid’s gowns and even the mothers of the bride and groom’s gowns were all by Elvi Design. Birgitta hand-embroidered a belt with a traditional floral folk print to complement an antique brooch that once belonged to Sandra’s Finnish grandmother Elvi. The pattern was used throughout the wedding, printed on handmade table runners and cushions made by the family. Even the floral boxes were handmade by Sandra’s sister who is a carpenter.
David took care of the eats and drinks for the day, selecting traditional fruit cakes for dessert. Less traditionally, his ‘no roses’ preference saw the couple opt for a modern mix of natives with delphiniums – the perfect powdery-hued ‘something blue’.
A highlight for the couple was being able to surprise their friends and family with a bridal rumba to Lana Del Ray’s Young and Beautiful. Following on from the day they met at their local supermarket to their big day, we wish these young and beautiful two innumerable days of goodness and gladness together. Congratulations!
