Emily Dickinson wrote, “Where thou art, that is home…” and the loveliness of that line is writ large throughout Hanny and Michael’s big day. Having moved back to Perth exactly a year before their wedding and with an inclination to live as ‘local’ as possible, they walked from their beautiful church ceremony home to an intimate backyard reception in order to “really invite friends and family into our lives.” You can’t get more local than that!
Michael said, “I am from Perth but my gorgeous wife Hanny isn’t, so this was important for me, to make sure my lovely bride fell in love with our new home and felt as secure here as I do – so as we create our lives for ourselves here, we have a fantastic wedding and long-lasting memories to build on.” Not even thunderstorms could dampen spirits as guests danced on undeterred into the wee hours, fueled by a late-night icecream van visit. Memory-makers extraordinaire, these two.
We thank them for sharing. And photographer Fiona Vail for snapping the happy too.
