Then comes marriage: Amy & Cam

When the photographer says, “It was hard to photograph the ceremony with the tears welling in my eyes,” and the stylist says, “If you wanted to fill a saltwater swimming pool then this was the place you could have collected enough juicy tears to make it happen,” then it is not surprising that the gorgeous bride Amy says the most heartfelt moment of her day was, “the first look … emotions took over and I was a sobbing mess … seeing Cam’s face and watching everyone sob made it that much harder for me not to sob ALL THE WAY down the aisle!”. You just can’t beat those happy tears, the ones that accompany beat-skipping hearts and butterflied-bellies and tell you that what you’re about to do is HUGE.

And huge it was. These kids both work in the mining industry and from the moment Cam proposed in Margaret River’s Mammoth Cave (did we say huge?) to their big day at Alverstoke Barn, their efforts in planning were immense (so much so, that Amy has since co-founded her own styling and hire business Sparkle & Bloom). Enlisting the help of stylist Jess Butcher of The Butcher, The Baker, The Stylist and Creator, they indulged a shared love for everything vintage and floral and gold and glittering (and bearded boys and bulldogs).

We also can’t help but note the gorgeous glittery gold of the bride’s reception gown. Having lost close to 50kg prior to the wedding, Amy never pictured herself in a fitted gown and we love that her search for the perfect frock resulted in not one, but two: a Rosa Clará gown for the ceremony and a customised Rachel Gilbert for the reception, made tea length for tripping the light fantastic in. Smart gal!

Enjoy this big big post about Amy and Cam’s big big love (it could easily have been twice as long because of the amazing small details!). We thank photographer Angela Higgins for sharing. Mind the tears.
