Cherry Poppin' at the Oxford

As cheeky as that title might sound, we’re going with it (stay tuned, all will be revealed). So, it seems the very first First Comes Love is off and running and the efforts spent making a little alternative bridal fair from scratch are fast being rewarded. We’re delighted daily by the terrifically talented people putting up their hands to be involved and appreciate the trust you’re placing in us. Yay Perth!

Big kudos to The Oxford Hotel – pretty damn sporting of them to let a bunch of gals off the street take over their gorgeous old grande dame of a pub for the weekend. Just imagine how they’d go looking after your every whim and wonderful need on the big day? We asked functions manager Laura Perry what has been her most memorable wedding moment at the Oxford and she said, “a carnivàle wedding last year was totally unique – we themed the food to match and transformed the Grand Oxford Room into a big top.”

And the girl-in-the-know’s canapé of choice or top tipple for an alternative wedding? Laura suggests the Oxford’s new Cherry Popper (we told you to stay tuned, just what kind of ‘cherry’ and ‘popping’ did you think we were talking about?). “It tastes just like a Cherry Ripe in a glass, delicious!”
